Lightning Ridge
Not much happened yesterday, so I didn't post anything. We drove to Nyngan. On the way, we saw heaps of goats. When we got there, half of the caravan park was flooded! We went to see the Big Bogan, which which was a big metal statue of a man. Mum and Cejae made dinner, while Dad and I walked to the servo to get slushies for Cejae and I.
Today, we drove to Lightning Ridge. There was a bunch of small floods we had to drive through. We stopped at the park for lunch in Walgett, and had leftovers. Dad didn’t think he would need shorts, but it turned out to be pretty hot, so he had to buy some. There were none in any shops, so we went to Vinnies 😖. After that, we got back in the car and continued driving. We got to Lightning Ridge and set up the van.
We expected it to be like Coober Pedy, but Lightning Ridge was nothing like it! It was quite a big town, and everything was open. There were Artisan Bore Pools, which we decided to go to. We figured they would be just be warm, not too hot, like the hot springs from last year. We got to them, and they were boiling! Dad went in, like it was nothing, but Cejae and I took a while to get in.
Mum was too scared 😂. We didn’t stay for long, because you started overheating like crazy after a few minutes.
We took took few photos, and that was about all. When we finished, we went back to the van and got ready to go out, before heading to Piccolo for dinner, which was an Italian restaurant. It was very fancy, considering Lightning Ridge isn’t the fanciest town. Then, we headed back to the van to go to bed.
