Opal Fever

After going to the underground café for breakfast, we packed all of our things from the dugout and put them in the car. We couldn't get the dugout for three nights, because someone had already booked tonight when we booked. Anyway, we are staying in the Big4 for the night. Then, we headed up to Tom's Working Opal Mine, and did a tour with Paul. Cejae and I collected lots of potch! After the tour, everyone sold their potch to the man. Most people got it for two dollars, a lollipop and 2 opal chips. When it was Cejae's turn, she just offered four dollars, and didn't do any bargaining! When my turn came, I asked for two pieces of rough opal that we could get cut, and that I got! He gave me a opalised fossil and a few small pieces of rough opal. For lunch, we had pizzas at John's. Then, we drove to Trevor (the opal cutting man!) And showed him. He said that most of them didn't have enough colour to be worth cutting, but the opalised fossil was very interesting! He cut one of the opals, but there wasn't very much colour. Then, we checked into our room at the Big4. I went for a swim in the pool! It was pretty cold, but really fun! For dinner, we just grabbed some food from the IGA.
