A very, very long drive, a bone man, and some cows

This morning we had another early start to get to Birdsville. We didn't have much idea of how long the trip would be so we asked locals as we made our way there. it ended up taking around 9 hours, and altogether, we drove around 700kms. We stopped at Innamincka for a break and lunch at around 11, then kept driving. We had a few toilet breaks along the way, and we also stopped at this weird bone structure that someone had pinned on to a pole. It was made from animal bones, shaped to look like a person. People had stuck cans and caps and all different things onto it. Dad put a beer can on for the Tyacks and the Bensons!

We also saw a bunch of cows throughout the drive. At one stage they all lined up to cross the road and we had to wait for them to cross!

At about 5, we arrived in Birdsville. After setting up our camper trailers, we all walked down to the pub, where we had dinner.

We were driving for most of the day, so we didn’t do much. Tomorrow, we are having a rest day from driving, so we’ll being doing lots of fun things in Birdsville. Stay tuned!
